Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Just an idea or two

It's obvious that whoever is the CEO of this company is only here for a paycheck and golden parachute. Part of my anger with the company is the freaking Shell Game that we are still in. CenturyLink, Qwest, Century-Tel, Embarq. Wherever you came from you're still not Lumen. We're identified as such on paystubs, W-2s and Corporate directory. Then the company is split into CenturyLink, Quantum Fiber and Enterprise . Internally the company is split down even more. Let's not forget that 2018 class action lawsuit where their legal team claimed that CenturyLink doesn't have customers. Qwest, Embarq and Century-Tel had customers but not CenturyLink(?)! They literally said they have NO customers therefore cannot be sued.

Here's an idea to fix our image.
*Start with making this a "ONE" company. Sure, you will have your internal department separations like Billing, Repair, Sales, etc. That's normal. But tell the public that we are Lumen all around. We offer fiber and copper under Lumen.
Also, while you're at it. Bring back the overseas work and let the customers talk to Americans. I don't work in a call center but I cringe when I need IT support and Apu answers.
Really it feels like the chef is back in the kitchen cooking, then comes out every so often to tell the customer that he's still working on that dish, but never delivers anything. Stop the BS and lies. One company, one goal. Reach that goal then set another. Rinse and repeat.

Hey OP, want to finally welcome you to the 4th Industrial Revolution ;))) Folks, they have been dropping these crumbs for the last 6 years on WHERE this transformation was going….to be the largest solutions provider of IT and Cloud services. You, your job and your tax dollars have been funding this transformation since the Level3 merge!! Most of us workers seem to be in 1of 2 sinking ships…age, time of service, pension, pay scale keep you here until your numbers called OR your just so fed up that your walking away! Exactly how they want it my friends…lay-offs cost the company money, which we do not have, so they are going to make things so miserable that YOU are forced to make that decision. Great culture they have been building and now we get the cheerleading CEO that hits all the “woke” criteria of today to save us all….in a way, we are just getting started for what’s about to end this train of darkness! Good luck to all

I agree. They are working towards this, and a lot of this I think is due to the EIN numbers that are assigned for tax reporting purposes.

Lumen is really trying hard to pick itself up! A lot of copper jockeys on here complaining all the time isn't helping anything. If you aren't happy, then there's the door. Everybody here is working for a paycheck. No point in complaining, you can be part of the solution or part of the problem. We had bad leadership, we got new leadership, let's give them a chance. Every executive org is paid well, that's a fact of all big companies.

Try to start with a good attitude.

Be Blessed!

It’s too late. This company is doomed. Jump ship or go down with it.

You are correct. They preached “one company” up until the Lumen name then divided by three. Quantum fiber is just another hoax like the AMO was. I can have all 4 networks (Qwest, L3, Wiltel and CTL) in my project but have to separate them by legacy’ name and draw agreement’s paying back one another. Such a scam!
