But management always treat the front line workers as if they know better. We have warned, suggested, and did everything we could to explain to them what was happening and what the company can do in areas to at least catch up with the competition if not surpass but they have not and will not listen. It’s as if they have such disdain for suggestion that they will do the opposite. From customer service to end product, their way of thinking has been “if we could only get rid of our pesky customers and employees, we would have a pretty good company” and fail to realize that when you don’t invest in either then you end up with what you have now. Employees have been begging the company to invest in better customer service and product but the company chose that money was better suited to promote how woke and progressive they are. It’s a shame that much smaller mom and pop companies can come in their once monopoly and and take every customer while they choose to retreat instead of invest.

Woke guy is a mo--n who needs something to blame. Probably pi---d off that a certain type of person got hired and he’s convinced the company is declining because of it. Not smart enough to think for himself so he repeats a word he heard on the mainstream media he doesn’t trust. The irony!
Try to write an email to someone or make some suggestions to get a social media team for the company to reach out to unhappy customers and see how they can make them happy? That at least is a start and shows that the customer is our main concern.
Lumen is actively running it customer base away. They raised the rates on HSI, that people would sign up for 3,7,12meg, and 20meg services because it was cheaper, even though they were slow compared to the CATV companies because it worked for them and didn’t have to deal with constant rate increases. They made it standard $55 for 1meg to 100meg depending on what you qualified for. Then they pushed repair and order due dates out to a week or even three weeks! People canceled those orders and service request, then they bring in contractors who are completely incompetent and only pi-s off the customer that was willing to wait for service/repair only to not have the product installed correctly or repaired after multiple visits until an actual company tech comes out. Then they are actively lobbying in every state to abandon the copper plant on grounds that people have other options now and that they shouldn’t be required to maintain it. And they are not wrong, Majority or copper cables have at best 10% workers under sheath. The company is on its death bed and it’s trying to cut its own wrist to speed the process. Best of luck to the people still employed, but be smart and polish the resume because the end of Lumen is near.
Why do you keep trying to tie "Woke" to the state of this company? Capitalism is basically the allowance of any company to do whatever they want for profit. For example, when they decide to fire employees for fun (or for a reason) to stay competitive..well that's their power. Unions have been around since this company started. You can't tie Woke to a Union that was born with the company. I'm really wondering if you can provide an example of how to UN-wake (?) (something) in the company? What that (something) would be? Enslave colored people again (if Lumen could do that)? Diversity, women's rights, and those hundreds of other topics like harassment, fraud, threats are all part of your annual compliance training. Has been for 30+ years. What the company has done with their money in the recent decade has nothing to do with "Woke". They surely are not investing in giving me more money, or into my Healthcare so I can pay less. They are not installing transgender bathrooms or giving us any stress time off. Heck no. I can tell you two "Woke" things they have done but it didn't wreck this company. They took away Good Friday and gave everyone MLK day. They had a culture meeting. One meeting just last week while the stock was at $3.50 (and tanking). Your anger at Woke doesn't tie into the company's decline. Saying it over and over doesn't make it true. They're greedy at the top. Kate would give herself a million dollar bonus without ever thinking about the lowest person on the food chain. No different than any other company. I'm not a fan of Woke... shocking isn't that! It's making people too soft. But that avenue of thinking in this world has started and it can never be undone. What seemed like fun and acceptable is now wrong. I agree with some Woke changes because of the past harm, but some changes are too sensitive. Nothing WOKE has happened in this company to drop us from $25 a share 5 years ago to $2 today.
Lumen needs to realize also how social media is playing a huge part in their downfall as they continue walk back from customer service and refuse to invest in communities for better service. The more they drag their feet the more community social media groups continue to shape negative public opinion.
