Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Town hall meeting time?

Isn’t about time for another tone deaf town hall meeting while the company is having large layoffs this year?

Don’t know about you but I’m ready for more kitchen recipe videos or telling us how they are going to spread the peanut butter, give some extra money to one employee and talking about same ole retread company cliches of purpose, culture, mission, goals, etc… If they would only be more detailed and specific instead, they spend most of the time introducing and self promoting themselves, their backs are sore from patting it and they lips become sore from kissing up.

Watch the expressions on the captive audience, you can tell most of them would rather be somewhere else but know they have to be there because of company politics. It’s like watching a communist meeting, they only perform (smile and clap) when asked or the camera swings their way.

If we are lucky the last 10-15 minutes the main host will answer and fumble around carefully selected questions or not answer at all but instead talk about something else till time runs out. If they would only be more transparent with substance and act like they care about the employee by giving real direction then answering tough questions about concerns and issues.

What a waste of time and resources so for me the best option is to click on the stream and hit low volume or mute!

No too long ago, there were town halls every quarter at various levels. Pretty much all quiet now, executives are too damn lazy to read of slides produced by the teams, never mind answering questions which they don't have a clue about. The same themes of we appreciate everything you do and surplus is coming, sounds like a broken record, doesn't it?

If you think insider comments are bad, don’t look at LinkedIn, there are a ton groupies both inside and outside of the company kissing executive behind.

It’s the alternate universe of make believe, why is the stock tanking if everything is so great?

Had one today. A big old pep rally with a bunch of spankers wearing NBA jerseys. Another one a few days ago with our new VP telling us that we'll have surplus this month and again in the summer and THEN telling us how important 'culture' is. Yes, a culture where everyone is scared to lose their job is a big winner innit??? These id--ts can't truly believe we GAS about their BS rah rah sessions can they?

I love to go to town halls and hear how we have to be sure to spread the peanut butter evenly on the bread.

Most employees hate Stankey ? Then why do they post such kiss-@55 comments on att insider page. It’s utterly disgusting how many cheer Stankey on and suck up in that comments section.

Most employees hate Stankey and always will. That's a fact. He destroyed at&t and seemed to enjoy it. Can't even fathom how many lives he's ruined over the last several years.

I agree, It’s better to not watch or hear it, kind of like the fake news spinners. Not much substance but a lot of noise. It only adds stress, mental anguish and anger to do so, it’s better to keep working and smile every two weeks when the money you earned is deposited in your account.

Or don’t watch it all. There’s absolutely no reason to and it’s not like you have to.
