Freebie isn’t the way out? Did you actually see how much money Story took from this company? Please! What makes them so special?! They destroyed this company and jumped off the plane the second its trajectory was downhill! You’re a fool for making that comment!

We all work hard to retire.
Freebie isn't the way out.
Can someone pay me to retire please!!!!!
YOU DIDN'T KNOW NOTHING WHEN YOU JOINED CENTURYLINK!
Once the copper is dead, they will surplus all the techs and management on that side. Then what small amounts of fiber they have will be dealt off to any buyers as it’s not regulated and can be sold off as they please. There is absolutely no future at Lumen.
What people on here don't understand is. The stock prices involves investments from shareholders. Shareholders wants good returns on their investments. Copper has no future. It doesn't matter what the revenue looks like. Its a very short term declining revenue. Shareholders will never take risk into dead technology.
FTTP is the future. It doesn't matter who installs them. Shareholders only sees the bottom line. If Lumen drowns in employees. Thats a sign of failure. Shareholders only invest with whoever know how to manage their bottom line.
What I noticed in Washington State, Comcast technicians are hard to find after the automation. They are not required to do physical installs and disconnects anymore.
Automation took that away.
Hint! No need for surplus technicians.
By the way don't say no one wants to invest in copper. Go watch the revenue readout report from Tuesday. Money is still coming in for copper based plant. In fact, Enterprise and "copper services" were almost equal in revenue genereated. Copper services decreased. No growth for either, hence the 24.5% drop overall.
Goodness gracious. Fiber, copper it doesn't matter the product. The company is what matters. Having fiber plant does not mean more generated revenue, more customers, more employees. Fiber is being placed by all sorts of different companies. Lumen wants to become a non-physical company. You want fiber? Have a contractor draw up the plan, have a contractor install the fiber. No need for an employee. Cheaper with contracted help. $3.96 per share with a big drop in quarterly revenue. You've been warned. I'm glad when copper is gutted. My neighborhood never had good copper, company refused to replace F2. Let's see how maintained the fiber will be in 5, 10 or 35 years. Go ahead and be dedicated, be super dedicated. This company sees you as a number and they'll be around to clip when the feel there are too many technicians. Or a new Fiber Assistant title will be formed at $12-$15 an hour and they'll drop Premise Techs. History repeats itself. I've seen it too many times. Same company, different driver. Ha! Seen 9 CEOs in my tenure always offering to turn it around.
Hey we agree. Get rid of copper. It’s everywhere! Let’s clean it up. Remove it all. Let’s see how we do with fiber only customers. We will have 3% of our customers. Let do it!
Im new hire also.
The reason why Lumen is struggling is the copper. No one wants to invest in dying technology. Get rid of copper! Period!
Wow! The new hired Premise Techs are coming online here to post that they are going to stay working here for 35 years. Or the their youth will form the New Lumen. You will not get 35 years here. Kate will not be here 35 years. After me doing 30+ years here; it has been a disaster. I won't elaborate but you All should take my advice and go someplace with consistency. Power company, city, county or DOT. I am not threatened by Premise Techs. I have gone passed 30 years but if I could go back and start somewhere else. I would. Why did I do 30+ years? Because when I was young, I was thinking just like you. Things would get better, longevity and a good union contract. You're too young to understand but as this company struggles you can expect more cutbacks, weaker contract and more layoffs. You're next 35 years will be "am I in the list of 10 to be force reduced?" Also, why would Premise Techs be checking out the Lumen Layoffs webpage? Are we not feeling safe and secure?
It's time to move on with "Getting long in the tooth generation"
Let's build new Lumen with our Youth.
I have no training. I started working for Lumen last summer. I started FTTP installs from the start. Piece a cake compared to working at Amazon warehouse.
Im here to stay. 😊
Not me, I just started. I have good 35 year to go. I got on with Lumen right out power engineering school. I love working for Lumen.
You’re 3 years late?
I would
