You can find this is true if you notice what happens to our customers. Customers want to save money, and no investment on the hardware. We are affected, too

We've been told at Seagate Springtown that the work will be ramping up by April and they will be hiring more operators .Which one is true?

Yeah, same here. Something is wrong with the labor market at the senior level. I still get interviews though, but hiring managers are clueless. To be honest, most of the industry in Minnesota is low tech, and they have no idea what I am talking about. I hear that you implemented this automated system and saved this much $$? well good for you, but we do things here manually at a cell level here. Oh well....

Was the 3000 employee reduction number reached? If not was that target number for this fiscal year with actions to be closed by end of q4? That maybe what was heard and has yet to complete.

They should remove some redundant directors with only 2 managers or less.

We would be nothing without Business Excellence and it's continued complete immunity to any layoffs.

Well I’m still waiting on location of said meeting? We did hear rumors that the initial target last year was about 50% complete so more to come? Hope not, some our groups at NRM will never recover as it is. Maybe start reducing pay/extras for VP’s and Upper management it’s unlikely they will ever leave anyway. Problem solved your welcome!

Sad, but I reacted to this as good news that I'm still employed another couple of months. I mean it's Seagate after all right?

That would be double the last layoff. So we are talking an additional 6,000 people? Holy Moly!

After the attrition and layoffs, all the work needs to be done by the fewer of us remaining. All for no bonus and RSUs that have lost half their value. Keep the layoffs coming- we'll be shipping bricks again.

Not very helpful if location/org info is not shared.

What location was the meeting at? Only if you feel safe in responding.

I have been interviewing for few weeks now and the number of real interview calls have definitely reduced...
I know a senior engineer, who left in the peak of the great resignation (last year) and had 3-4 companies interviewing him every week.
Feels like, I am competing with so many people .. who have been laid off...
By April, more layoffs .. more difficulty to find a job...
