After bringing in almost all-Indian management team.

Yeah...india takeover has been a disaster. they can't deliver on anything. it's all a sham. from the inside it's nothing but lies. lies to clients. lies to employees. lies to contractors. work is overpromise and underdeliver. off shore does zero work and is retained because they cost nothing.
yeah all these tr---y conferences etc. are a joke. HR is fu----g worthless.
meanwhile HR is pushing out email after email about mentally ill transgender BS. I see where their priorities are.
In an internal email Keiji Kojima made a statement something to the effect that "We are looking for cash." That coupled with the delay of raises until FY23, it was obvious that we were going to have a layoff, and we did! Why? It has been long rumored that the India teams have been leaving in droves for more money. The thought is that we took it in the neck to fund raises in India. HV and the Indian management team, good luck! With the exception of one team, there has been a real retention problem. Unlike us here in the U.S. who put up with the lackluster pay, out of loyalty. Sadly, loyalty is a one way street. The employee is expendable, as the shareholders must be satiated. It's not just HV, other companies are just as guilty. When the $!@# hits the fan, let's see how loyal the India team is. I wish my former colleagues well. If you can get out, do it! There may not be a package waiting for you. You have to look out for your future. To quote a former HDS customer, " I wouldn't buy as much as a rice cooker from Hitachi." Always a day late and a several Yen short. Yesterdays technology tomorrow.
Heard of more layoffs today. Some individuals, some entire teams. Get ready for the hammer to brought down. Nobody is safe
They do layoffs in March every year. When they don't make plan and continue to struggle, they waive the white flag and try to dump as much costs as they can in the current fiscal year to show Japan that they are making corrections so "next year will be better"
Only problem is that there is nothing left at this point. If you are still here, ask yourself why. There are a lot of great companies to work for, but this isn't one of them.
I have been informed of multiple layoffs within the last week. I'm surprised it's happening right at end of fiscal year. I assumed they would at least wait until start of FY23 in April. This is just the start and I fully anticipate many more to come as they are looking to automate processes and offshore loads of operations positions. Time to polish the resume and prepare. Good luck to all.
how do i become one of these execs who can retire after a single rotation? what qualifications do i need to be able to effectively drive a company into the ground?
I left with $20m pay off 4 years ago and haven’t looked back. Just move on and stop y’all complaining.
Sorry to hear that. Loyolty belongs to 'amis' unless you are not one. No one is secured at the SF Bay Area and there will be more pains ahead. The contractors u mentioned, some of them are meant for replacements.
It is sad to see what HV has turned into. Instead of being a Japanese company it has now become a predominantly Indian company. HV believes that they will save $$$ by off-shoring to India, but it will hurt them in the long run. Most of the hires are contractors, with no skin in the game and no loyalty. I hate to use the old adage, you get what you pay for.
I was just laid off, but not the India team in my group. They are alive and well. HV will not hire in the SF Bay area. They are building up in Denver, of course cheaper, but the focus is off-shore.
A brief comment on loyalty, sadly, it is only one way. There is really no reward for being loyal to a company. That is not to say that personal loyalties have no value. If you believe that your loyalty to any company has value to that company, think again. One day, you too will be on the unemployment line.
I thought they brought in an all India/ex-Cognizant leadership team 3 or 4 years ago. All of the old white guys (the lucky ones anyway) got packages.
india is where I.T. companies go to die
