Hostile Takeover: Apple Acquisition?

INTC < 5% of Apple’s market cap.

How much further does the stock have to drop for a hostile takeover?

Private equity hostile takeover may well happen if the stock gets low enough. It's likely the fear of it that makes Pat and Zinsner try to prop it up with the dividend.

Maybe someone like Apollo Global Management. Apple would have no interest trying to catch a falling kn--e.

Don't forget that Apple hired Intel's Chief Diversity Officer. That tells me all I need to know.

Plus, it seems like all the ex Intel people I know who got jobs at Apple in the last couple of years have time to post cr-p to LinkedIn all day long. Things must not be that strenuous over there.

This just shows that intel engineers can't analyse things properly. That's why intel is such a mess.

You don't have to be a genius to understand, just see the history of those large tech companies that glide downhill, what happened to them.

No one will acquire intel as a whole, if anything, it's intel breaking up into smaller pieces and sell to others.

Apple loves to make underpaid second world workers make their products to save money, no way they would want to overpay Americans to actually make their products.

Apple should buy an aluminum miner since they use aluminum.

Apple should make their own DRAM.

Apple should buy Corning because they make glass.

See how ridiculous buying Intel sounds?

Apple might want the capacity…for its cars?

Not sure it's needed given M1 and M2 chips, intel isn't going to make those better.

A boa constrictor snake can swallow a porcupine whole... but that doesn't mean it's a good idea... (hint: the snake will die).

Apple may want the fabs. They're all about vertical integration. They would sell/trash the design side of Intel though.

@jmg+1l5aTtOs Microsoft turnaround and transformation is in a slow divorce mostly from Intel. Wintel days passed a decade ago

Even God wouldn’t by Intel.

AMD was able to pawn of their fab to a bunch if drunk Arabs.

Intel only chance is to sell TMG to the Us government in the name of chip security.

Intel product groups desperately want to leave TMG and compete on equal footing to Apple, AMD, Nvidia and others. Today they are so handicappped!

If it made the stock go to an all time high. Sounds great

Apple is something like 25% of TSMC revenue.

They don’t want Intel.

Microsoft doesn’t want Intel. They are using TSMC as well.

Ditto for AMD and Nvidia.

Who would want to get saddled with a capital intensive has been like GloFo?

Ha ha ha! Apple surely would have learnt from the experience of purchasing the cell phone modem group from Intel a few years ago. So far they haven’t been able to make their own modems despite being able to churn out market leading CPUs. They would know they will get too much garbage in the bargain .

A takeover may start as "hostile" but the leadership should surely not oppose this. If the Board of Directors or Executive Leadership did oppose any hypothetical hostile takeover, they should be immediately removed by activist investors or major shareholders.

Microsoft is tied to x86. They have an alternate supplier with AMD. Not sure why they would acquire Intel. But if they do, I would be so happy.

Yes, have Apple buy the company that it basically obsoleted by vertically integrating their own chip design. Smart strategy Einstein. Intel Smart.

Apple wouldn't want Intel as a sub-slave at this point.
