Just thinking out loud. As the rumor of more layoffs before the end of Q1 reaches a crescendo, should the company consider not giving out bonuses in order to limit the scope of the layoffs?

It's apparent JF wants to let go those who are pension eligible. If Ford didn't give bonuses, they'd lose the newbies. Bonuses were guarnteed to the UAW employees based on their contract. If the UAW employees get bonuses and not salaried, there's be h#ll to pay.
Ford should put a hold on advertising spend. $3.1 Billion a year would prevent any layoffs indefinitely. I mean seriously what does it say when you need to manipulate the public with ad campaigns to sell the product anyway?
