Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

After decades of working here, I decided to move on. Felt a bit sad.

Qualities I once thought mattered and would be rewarded no longer seem to be the case

  • deep knowledge and expertise
  • loyalty
  • hard work/effective worker
  • creativity
  • diversity in thought and approach
  • actually caring about customer need

The company has a changed a lot but they have cut through the bones and have made one too many poor people decisions. Some people survive the culls (not sure how- probably have the gift of the gab ) but a lot of good people are leaving or have been let go.

At least leaving TR has allowed my to rediscover myself.

Even during its best days I always told my Thomson coworkers that if they can better themselves financially and skills wise they should leave and never look back with any regrets.

Proud of you for leaving. Say no to bad leadership. Say no to the abuse. Blessings to you for your next step.

Congratulations. You may have just protected your sanity and mental health!
This company just likes yes people and those who just sound good but haven’t got a clue.

You will look back at that decision to leave as a great career and life milestone. TR has been a cesspool and sinking ship run by McKinsey/banking turds.
