Considering they just sold off an entire support staff department to an offshore 3rd party.....probably not.
Ive never seen a company just dip their toes into offshoring. This is the start of much more offshoring. This explains why certain very important departments have been allowed to get to catastrophe levels of staffing and backed up work for so long.
I think at some point in the next 5-10 years youll have all of claims and underwriting merging into a 3rd party offshore call center. This is why they allow things to have gotten so bad, and so toxic.
Your source is literally nothing more than a reference back to this site. Wonder why it seems to concur? Serious eye roll.
LOL-good thing you left and no one is interested in your bs.
State Farm needs to go back into the community office environment locals instead of the hubs. More personal representative among customers. That is why State Farm was a thriving and respectable business and it was a good business model. State Farm is just like any other insurance company and likely worse due to no work-life balance and mandatory overtime. That is not a positive business model. I left them 6.5 years ago as a 26 year employee and never looked back. The direction they were heading was not what I felt was a good model and they sacrificed customer service to a point I just could not belong to this organization. I did not even have my insurance with them due to them lack of customer service support that I saw they needed. Hold times on phones or never getting through to your claim representative was ridiculous plus did you get a knowledgeable representative who could truly help you. Said this company has fallen from such a premier insurance company to what it is today. They have sacrificed lagging customer service for profits. Not a great business plan in my mind. Soon profits will begin to fall if they continue with failed customer response for claims administration. Time will only tell but that what I expect. Message to State Farm Executive office - move back to more personal service in local communities to regain the luxury claims experience with the communities of the agents offices.
Who is “they” ?
State Farm is NOT the company it used to be. They used to care about ALL employees. Now they only care about the executives. Enjoy your $25mil bonuses.
Just used different words to describe the futile existence that you also referenced. Sad life for sad people with little to no hope. Talking about bullies and gangsters just reinforces the futility.
Same sorry song from same sorry misfits…your life stinks, always has always will. Your entire life will be one huge struggle before it just ends…..
Claims, underwriting, and support/sales roles: No this is not a wise career choice. Some might be able to endure a role in these areas enough to call it a career, but youll end up hating your job within a few years.
The never ending mandatory overtime, continual and aggressive lowering of quality of life for employees, sky high turnover with a "theres the door" mentality about that turnover....
Also their "hub" locations have seen rents more than double, food prices double, gas double, and are mostly congested areas youll need to commute to from very far away (top be able to afford)
This was a great career prior to 2015 (maybe 2010) but they couldnt afford to pay executives top dollar AND have a happy workforce. We see the results today.
This is basically a company for its executives, production employees, customers, vendors....all take a back seat to preserving executive lifestyles.
Books should be written about this companies "transformative growth" that saw a total 180 in company culture like overnight, and going from the most sought after insurance company to work for, into just another turn n burn insurance company.
In most departments, it is no longer a career profession. Call centers tend to be merry-go-rounds of employee churn. I guess if you can stomach it and stick it out for a number of years you may make it into a department where you are still treated like a professional.
not any longer.
Was! NOT ANYMORE!
2018 called. they want their newstory back
