Thinking of switching to Metro PCS or Cricket as I read their Networks are better than AT&T and they offer some free phones as well. In my area both their Networks were rated better than Verizon or ATT.

Stop taking the bait on this nonsense.
Cricket is AT&T. MetroPCS rides T-Mobile if I am not mistaken. In my experience, T-Mo does okay if you are in population dense areas. Rural Areas, not so much. With either, I believe you won't gain coverage. If you are looking for savings alone, go with Cricket.
