Out team was informed that the hybrid model compliance was going to be enforced more strictly this year- with attendance taking and auditing badge swipes. Is this kindergarten? Also- why are so many groups allowed to be fully remote? There are very few groups in our large office majority of the time so the theory that they have to justify paying the office space still doesn't make sense! I can see 15 rows of empty cubes at minimum in 95% of my days in the office. In fact, the motion lights are off about 95% of the time also. It seems the execs have a free pass to work from home too. I regularly take note of who is in office /wfh while on my webex meetings just to see if I am really imagining this unfairness. It doesn't add up! I really dont mind going a couple of times a week but why am I being watched and why do others not have this requirement?

@bkfz+1kzQS0ne yet. Wait into March rolls around.
No enforcement at 200 Park...
Heard they are going to strictly inforce the return to office. What is everyone else hearing?
Quiet quitting is the epitome of the culture. Low bar and high tolerance for laziness has been the gold standard for decades. Snoopy is back, so there goes your raise/bonus. Remember when we were all told the license cost too much and no one knew who Snoopy was? Now he's the most recognizable cartoon character and a necessity for branding. Gotta love this new leadership with their fresh ideas. Take back the golden parachute from EL with her failed rebranding and plagiarized logo.
Predictions:
- RTO will lead to more quiet quitting.
- Sub-inflation raises will lead to more quiet quitting, and some real quitting.
Back to the office?
Dinosaur mentality from a dead model.
Time to move toward the future.

@2anp+1kzQS0ne you are right. Why take on the expense of letting people go when you can just encourage them to quit. Company and it's leadership is one big joke. Always crowing about being the Apple or Amazon of insurance, but acting more like the 3rd grade playground bully with a single digit IQ
I can confirm that at least for the Cary office, people managers had cascaded to them a goal that is effectively "have your bu-t inside the office" for 2023. It's so incredibly pedantic that I have to wonder if the ultimate goal isn't to have more people quit.
Does it matter? No
The bottom line is that the work is getting done.
Doesn't matter from where.
On the end, it's the results that matter.
Clown company, clown leadership. Get out now before the circus packs up and moves to the next dead end town.
LEAVE METLIFE! Better jobs are out there.
I remember in the last Town hall MK did mention he does review the data of number of people coming in office.
Anyone feel like this is the calm before a storm? I do. I don't know what's coming, but it just feels too quiet.
I am the only one from my team who was in office every week since back to office. Rest have hardly visited office , no questions asked or concerns raised by seniors. People are away half the time, kids, doctors appointment every other week. Taking numerous half a day offs without even utilizing PTO’s .
You hit the nail on the head. After two years of WFH, there is less consistent work than the start of kindergarten, even the kids who haven't a clue . People worked diligently at first, but people have seriously started slacking in droves, often taking hours off at a time. No one wants to implement this kind of monitoring, but there's little choice. The alternative is to start letting go of experienced people who were doing work just fine prepandemic.
During the 2 years of pandemic WFH, management was monitoring the VPN activity, so this BIG BROTHER approach is unfortunately nothing new. Yes, we are treated like little kids, with EVERYTHING at this place. The "Flex Days" make me laugh, so many don't actually code it into the system and have definitely well exceeded their 10 day allotment early in the year. Executive leadership with their brilliant ideas....
