Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

This site makes me laugh

A lot of people who post here act like everyone at Intel reads this stuff and cares what is being said. The majority of Intel employees have no idea this site exists and probably couldn't care less that it does. The comments don't matter and won't change anything. I really doubt that Intel HR spends any effort reviewing or commenting on this site unless they need a good laugh.

This site is primarily angry and frustrated people along with the trolls who are screwing with them.

It is entertaining... I really like the posts that go into great detail about the mistakes made by the company and what they would have done differently that would have made it a complete success. lol, keep writing those...

To the people who are really caught up in the layoffs, good luck and I hope you get through this quickly. IMO, this isn't a site where you will get valuable information to help you through this so spend your time elsewhere.

I'm sure Intel HR monitors it and threatens legal action against the owner of this platform if certain posts that reveal "inconvenient truths" aren't taken down.

No one from Intel reads this... Yeah, right. That's why they blocked the site from the internal network during ACT. Cause no one from there reads it.

I have no idea if it is access able these days.

I think people posting here about what Intel should do/have done still truly care about the company and those few valuable and competent people still working there. They just don't care as much about arrogant and incompetent ELT/HR/managers like OP.

So much drama... Companies come and go. There is a season. Don't be full of yourself. Move on. Find your meaningful purpose in life in activities that benefit those around you.

@pje+1kyx271E, tragedy, what tragedy? Look at the history of this company. It is one tragedy with layoffs after another. It is predictable. The only really good decision that was ever made by management was in the 80s when they chose to pursue processors over a memory business. Frankly, that could have been a coin toss to make the decision. The only time this company has done well is when they have had a near monopoly market share. Even then they received the first ever billion dollar fine for abusive sales practices. Guess who was the head of sales and marketing during that time. I will give you a hint, a CEO whose initials were PO. The same guy who missed the entire cell phone market as a business opportunity.
The competition has caught up and passed Intel on multiple fronts. Competing with good companies has never been a strong point for Intel so tough times ahead.

A freaking men! This site is filled with bitter trolls who root for the rest of us to lose our jobs.
There are plenty of sites blocked on the intranet, most are a cesspool of trolls like this one.
Trust me, employees look at these to get a good laugh and see if anyone can recognize the tone of one of the bitter trolls who were let go....

OP it is not a laughing matter it is a corporate tragedy how the BOD and PSO, BK, BS and now Pat along with the BoD and ELT allowed Intel to fall from being the most respected and best managed semiconductor and technology innovation company of the last decade to the laughingstock of arrogant incompetence it is now.

No company had more talent, more money, more capabilities and also the expertise to see the mobile and foundry pivot coming and actually they made feeble half hearted attempts at so many of these early on and could have one this and become TSMC, Nvidia and AMd all in one company. Sadly instead missed them all due to lack of leadership, greed, selfish infighting and poisonous culture.

The result multiple layoffs after squandering untold billions.

Sadly the current leadership is still in denial and its arrogance lives in the past and doesn’t really understand the competition nor it’s competitive position.

The result of this is a flawed strategy that will wast countless more billions and ruin whatever little is left of this once great company, not to mention many young peoples careers and lives ruined by the arrogance of the leadership, FUBAR!

For people posting here, it’s not laughing matter. It is not the disagree and commit culture. That is the corporate echo chamber. It is not bravado. It is unfiltered observation. If you are a corporate person and want to listen, you can. Don’t laugh at the people posting here. It is Intel that has become laughing stock for their bravado and nothing to match in action.

As always, thanks for your message, HR. Your arrogance and hubris is showing.

If Intel has nothing to worry about this site, then why block it from its own intranet?

Intel employees definitely know about this site. It's been blocked on Intel's intranet since the mid 2000's that I'm aware of. Intel claimed it was a distraction to employees or some nonsense. It probably cooled things down back then, but now that everyone has smart phones, blocking this site on the intranet is irrelevant.

This site is well-known amongst Intel employees, particularly long-time ones. This is because Intel has had so many layoffs.

Believe it or not this site is mentioned in a few other places where influential blogging and analysts take a loon for tidbits and ideas and undercurrents.

You can be absolutely sure this site is monitored for leaks and other thing.

If you don’t you trusty are one of the many incompetent people at Intel

Nobody posts here thinking that ELT reads, or would act on, their suggestions.

This site is for people who are hurting, laid off or worried about being laid off. It's for venting, healing, understanding what happened, and making suggestions to help others who are in the same boat.

@flt+1kyx271E, get a clue. If Pat and the ELT along with HR are truly tracking this site than why aren't they taking all of the incredibly brilliant ideas that are posted here and turning the company around?

This site if for whiners, bullies, and a few naive people who actually come here looking for guidance. This site has zero impact on the direction or policies of the company but you go ahead and think your comments have meaning and impact... you add to the entertainment value.
