Mach-E loses 30% of its range in 20-30 degree temps

Ford Authority: Ford Mustang Mach-E Winter Range Detailed In New Study.

Good luck with that! And that's on new batteries. Imagine as those batteries age! And imagine the range loss in the <10 degree bo-b cyclone temps we just had.

I'm sticking to ICE. Forever.

It’s really all about usage of climate controls. I believe my range was around 160 in the coldest temperatures we had this winter by layering up and only using the heated steering wheel. In the summer I get on average 220 miles of range on the 210 standard battery. Charging definitely doesn’t take 2 hours if you’re on a fast charger and charge to 80%. Even with range impacts in the winter I’d never go back to an ice vehicle. Performance and the gasoline smell gets to you after you’ve been away from them for a while.

EV's over time will have a certain value to society, commercial delivery, small business use, 2nd car, etc., however the current strategy for public acceptance and use is 180 deg. wrong.
This is due to being complicit with government to punish society into wide use of these vehicles for personal use and travel when the technology and infrastructure cannot fulfill that need for millions of car owners let alone move all the freight needed for society to function.
No OEM has the courage to resist the manic government obsession with climate change and therefore are silent when the petroleum industry is vilified and destroyed and those who can least afford ANY kind of EV suffer the most.

Range, cost and practicality don't matter, because no sacrifice is too great when you're saving the planet from the existential threat of climate change.

You're missing the point though. No one cares about its performance, in fact it could lose 50%.

People buy it to virtue signal that they don't like elon musk. It's a liberal showpiece of dissent of one man, that's it.

Ford Mach-E typically loses its batter power after 6 months in service. At 100% fully charged, the vehicle only has 230 miles range instead of 300 miles range.

@ocb - I agree and sadly we may not ever see the 'wake up' - may be too late. The problem is the 'Slowly but sure' part because once 'the party' has total control, the only long-term reality is what they tell you what to think . . . or else . . .
It is slow to change if ever because they rule with an iron fist, control all communications and transactions and are willing to ki-l to maintain power. If you are familiar with the History of the USSR you might know things like 'The is no mu---r in paradise.', etc. and the people there still remain in bo----e under a criminal oligarchy. They drive what vehicle the 'government' allows them to . . . or else . . .

Well I guess you can understand why they had 67 recalls last year. This is what happens when you put a bean or marketing guy in the top spot. Well Legend will now own every bad thing as well as taking credit for limited positive things.
Get rid of TVM focus on basics. Make Quality is Job 1 a religion. not a punchline.
What you have now are a self proclaimed car car in LEGEND followed by a professional career climber in DF. Guy never stayed in any spot for more than five years. So wander the FORD MANAGMENT BENCH is weak.

That’s okay, we only sold 39,548 of them last year, probably all in warmer, hurricane-prone climates where the bigger concern will be battery fires.

Yes, people can ignore the advice of engineers, scientists, geeks and nerds, but it is really hard to ignore reality, especially when it hits like a truck. Slowly, but sure, all those woke idealists are going to wake up, and regret their choices. Welcome to the real world, boys and girls!

Of course. It was widely reported that Hertz customers who rented EV during the recent subzero wind-chill event ended up stranded or tethered to a charging station - drive a half an hour - charge for 2 hours.

And thanks to EV we now have increased DTE electric rates from 3pm-7pm starting in March. Just the start
