Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Outsourcing assistants?

What are y'all thoughts on this? Some companies have started doing this recently and it got me thinking about TRP.

@b0 80-20 split rumor is totally baseless … you must not be high enough on the totem pole to discount it

In this age of AI, people who abuse their authority at work do nothing but harm. They should be laid off, and fast.

Since the work is going to be done with AI anyway, you probably figure the quality doesn't change much whether it's Accenture doing it or anyone else, right? And honestly — when I had an AI compare my boss's deck (the one who acts so superior) with mine, it said mine was better by a wide margin. His was riddled with mistakes and the wording was wrong all over the place. The same thing is going to play out at every layer of the organization. What you need is a smart leader who can actually govern that — and the problem is that this company doesn't have anyone like that left.

Any job that can be outsourced/offshored will be. Rumor is they want an 80-20 split, Offshore vs Employee, Managers vs Contractors. Accenture and TATA offer workers who do many roles, IT is just one example. I do not understand the logic as they offshore workers I have dealt with have been terrible and a huge step down from what used to be. As for IT, you'd be better googling for an answer because this is how the offshore workers will "solve" your problem too. I can't see this ending well, but I am not a most superior genius as RS, RR, or that "Watch Netflix" guy.

You mean GCC (global capability center) or TCS Accenture?
