I'm in sales and as of last half performed the role of an outside AE but I'm an inside employee. I make 1/2 to a 1/3rd of what a field person makes (I'm not complaining), I can see more of this happening. I'm an ISR4 and they have also brought in ISR2's and 3's and they have been successful.

One reason of the move to everything APEX. Only sales needed will be for truly specialty/industry focused products and major accounts. Thus, less sales headcount needed.
