I used to really believe that hard work is worth it and that this is the way to advance in your career, that dedication and giving 120% can save my job. How naive! There is really no way to secure your job here, even if you're giving it your best, and that is a huge demotivator for me. How can this company have a future if people think that their engagement will not be valued?

Glad you finally got your “ah ha” moment. Took me way too long to get mine until I was laid off in 2019. I knew I was going to get rif’d so I quiet quit in 2017 before it was popular. I got my finances in order and everything else, did the bare minimum and collected a paycheck. Sc--w AIG, because they will most definitely sc--w you. Doesn’t matter how hard you work, what results you get, or what position unless you are salary grade 27 and up, they will rif you. You are a number and an expense, period stop. You are not valued, you are not important, you are not irreplaceable to them. Sense of loyalty is lost on PZ and his corporate raiding minions. Get out as fast as you can if you are not entitled to a good severance package. If you have golden handcuffs, straight up ask to be laid off like I did.
Nothing at this place demotivates me anymore.. just coasting and working on myself, preparing for what is inevitable…
Get out while you can. I was with them for just a year when I realized how the current upper management doesn't value human effort. Very disappointing from the image that they give while onboarding.
Welcome to AIG. It’s just a slush fund for execs. Your role and future are irrelevant to the company’s goal of enriching themselves while paying as little as possible to the drones.
