Laying folks off in Talent and HR. Not a performance thing for those laid off. More political in nature. Sadly it’s not going to end.

4 weeks?!? What was the package offered? Previously, they offered time per year served. I knew several that were impacted that have 20 years and more. I hate to read that some were only offered 4 weeks.

I was not affected but I will say it is criminal that they are providing 4 weeks severance for long service employees.

I haven’t heard anything from anyone on this. Is this still happening? If so, still looking at management? Any idea when?

Emergency meeting with exec team and board. With the recent banking issues elsewhere, Synovus will lose 15% of current deposits. Do the math. To make this less of an impact, headcount will be reduced. If you’re a manager, you’re being looked at. They are going level functions out, with most Directors taking in more.

Haven’t seen or heard anything about layoffs yet. Wonder if recent events will impact this or any other plans?

500 people will be impacted over the course of 3 weeks beginning March 1st. B*shop sent his list in, and it’s the largest.

They will use TSYS’s playbook with the message of low performing employees are being let go. This does nothing but harm for those impacted. The other big companies in Columbus take that as gospel, and turns a blind eye to their application.

Why people stay in a place like that is beyond comprehension. Expand your mind, and your skill set. Get out of the Synovus, TSYS, and Aflac loop. They work together to keep the market low, and are horrible for growth.

The plan is to layoff up to 1/3rd of Corp Services in 2023. They entered into a contract with an offshore vendor to keep costs down, while making the balance sheet more attractive for a sell.

I was laid off days before Christmas. I've been applying for another job and pray that I can claim one soon.
