Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Elimination by race & gender in full effect!

PepsiCo is following suit with the US Administration and eliminating minorities and women from the organization! Intelligence and loyalty mean nothing to this company any longer. Looking at the org charts is like looking at a vanilla ice cream cone with a very light dusting of dark chocolate sprinkles.

@OP actually it is just the opposite. They forced hired minorities for years just based of skin color and gender. It was embarrassing and has led to poor results/leadership. Now much of the work has been offshored or sent to 3rd parties.

@e4 How many managers — the physical count? What is the percentage of different races in this area? How many of these different races and/or females apply to the management positions? Is nepotism rampant? Daddy’s sons? .
Applying for positions here in my area, non-whites and young females of any race will be handed the position, regardless of qualifications or experience. Then they will be rapidly promoted, jumping 4-6 levels in a year or two is not unheard of (They do not even have to be a coveted campus hire.). This company provides great financial incentives to hire and promote based on inherited traits.
HR should actively recruit diverse people (not just on college campuses) based on skills, knowledge and achievements. Diversity comes from hiring and promoting based on merit. Most people want to work at a company with the best people who are valued and rewarded based on merit.

Go to the KWV market where 98% are managers are white male. HR needs to intervene.

@ct Same here. As long as those hiring and promoting are paid and evaluated on how much they discriminate to meet a quota, we lose the “focus on the core goal: delivering value to shareholders and customers.” I also would add stakeholders.
This company is too fixated on the wrong numbers!

Heh - get underserved promos, then cry about the correction.

“Following the admin…”

Delusional.

I’ve observed that some female VPs were placed in roles primarily to meet diversity targets. A few of them rely on bullying management style because they are protected by leadership, even if they lack strong operational or business experience. This impacts how effectively the function runs. While this issue isn’t exclusive to any gender, my concern is that when diversity becomes the main hiring filter, we risk losing focus on the core goal: delivering value to shareholders and customers.

@OP Not in my area. We have too many over leveled young females. Age and race discrimination still exists here — promote young females, preferably not 100% white without regard to knowledge, skills, ability, and achievement.
