Sales volumes down 2% in 2022

Ford might be the. #2 EV seller, far behind Tesla 1.4 million EVs delivered in 2022. Ford sold a total of only 61,575 EVs, 4% of what Tesla sold. We used to cancel vehicles that sold these low volumes.

“Ford has three EVs on the market: the F-150 Lightning pickup, which closed the year as the best-selling electric truck in the U.S. with 15,617 sales since it launched in May; the E-Transit van, which had 73% share of the electric van segment to end the year, with 6,500 sales; and the Mustang Mach-E crossover SUV, which saw sales increase 45.4% year-over-year on sales of 39,458 units.”

@OP. Sales down 2% in 2022, sales down 7% in 2021, and so on since 2015. Over 25% less vehicles sold last year compared with 2015. And while the numbers in 2016 and 2017 were very close to the numbers in 2015, in later years the difference has increased the pace. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Here in EU the commissioner for internal marker, Thierry Breton, has asked manufacturers to keep making ice driven cars, at least for the moment. So last week Volkswagen stepped back from being "all in for EV", the will keep making ICEs. Stellantis never was "all in". Guess who is planning to cull their ICEs in EU in order to rely mainly on EVs from 2025 on? Yes, it is us!

We are gonna sell well over 2 million ev's in 3 years they say.

Here's some math....2,000,000 / 61K = 32.5 X more ev's than what we sold last year, in 3 years from now.

Thats impressive. And a total pipe dream. Who in the world sold baloney this to Bill and JF?

Ford needed to become a platform and they instead choose to become irrelevant.

Its good that the Ford family and their properties should perish. Their complacency with the NSD far outweighs any benefit received from Fordism.

Nobody will doubt someday mankind transitions to another type of propulsion. But timing is everything. Cost, charge time, infrastructure all have to align. this recent bill for infrastructure was a shame . in name only less than 19% will go to what it is for. the rest is pork. So our timing is flawed.
