Seems like yes layoffs are coming at some point based on what Lanell is saying. A lot of language around "roles shifting" and that "decisions will be made as we learn more"

84.51 has been staff augmented with engineers from India, Mexico, Canada, and Argentina since March 2025. About 40% of those contractors have been let go and replaced by others because of their utter incompetentence and inability to comprehend simple requests. Quite a bit of churn, it's basically a revolving door at this point and very few things are actually getting accomplished.

@14r
Supply Chain has been using India for about a year now...they aren't very good but no one cares. They cause a ton of shrink.

Welp they just admitted to using an MSP, that in combination with India is not a good look. However they have only focused on supply chain and 13 locations lol. Typical Kroger it will take 5 years to implement just this.

Who knows

KCC appears to be Kroger’s enterprise capability-center and operating-model redesign effort, not just a contact center or support-center initiative. Based on the internal language we found, it is meant to centralize and standardize work across business functions, redesign end-to-end processes, expand Kroger’s global talent and capability model, and use automation, AI, analytics, and strategic partners to drive faster execution and lower costs. The clearest evidence says it includes a future operating model, integrated roadmap, quick wins, change impacts, and a network of onshore, nearshore, and offshore centers run by Kroger and partners. In plain English: KCC is Kroger’s branded push to move work into a more centralized, globally scaled, AI-enabled delivery model so teams can offload lower-value work, reduce cost, and focus internal resources on higher-impact outcomes.

@jn link to the list? KCC does not exist anywhere not even on LinkedIn where those jobs are typically posted (just look at Albertsons and Giant Eagle Capability Centers)

Senior roles are safe, entry level are gone for sure. Product teams don't need to exist. KSC is toast. GO is toast.

We've been down the India route a hundred times, to put it bluntly those folks have no clue what they're doing and end up costing the company millions.

Here's a copilot prompt you can use, it's not going to find anything significant.

Search all accessible M365/internal sources for evidence about Kroger Capability Center/KCC, Kroger Capabilities Center, Global Capability Center, Deloitte, ANSR, Talent500, Global Delivery, nearshore/offshore, India/Bengaluru/Bangalore, Target Operating Model, shared services, SOPs/runbooks, knowledge transfer, and work transition.

Do not list personal names or specific file names unless required to prove a leadership change, duty handoff, source ownership, or artifact identity.

Find related docs, decks, emails, chats, meetings, transcripts, wikis, org profiles, ServiceNow/Jira references, and strategy materials. Prioritize evidence around KCC overview material, operating model design, strategic partners, offshore/nearshore delivery, leadership/responsibility changes, email forwarding/duty handoff records, Deloitte transition, ANSR/Talent500, India onboarding, SOPs, runbooks, and KT.

Return a source-driven summary with:

  • artifact description
  • source type
  • date
  • department/area
  • exact supporting snippet
  • one-sentence summary
  • relevance to KCC, outsourcing, operating model, KT, or leadership change
  • confidence level

Do not speculate. Separate confirmed evidence from weak clues. Specifically flag anything mentioning Deloitte, ANSR, Talent500, strategic partners, nearshore/offshore centers, India/Bengaluru/Bangalore, SOPs, runbooks, knowledge transfer, operating model, centralized service organization, quick wins, business case, or roadmap.

@g7 check the short list for the KCC, tech jobs are all over it as a target to be offshored. If you don’t think India or Copilot can’t replace KTD, you might want to ask Copilot to review your resume while you’re at it.

@f9 the pre-covid policy was infinitely better than current. Most were WFH two days a week lol

@ec tech runs the entire business lmao. Every job at GO is useless and being replaced by India and chatgpt

@f9
Pre covid we had 1 day work from home and they were working on a up to 3 day policy

@ba not the case unless my manager has been misled. Management spoke to us this week to confirm the remote work policy is now back to how it was pre-covid. Meaning, rare exceptions

@ej throw us a tshirt or something once a year lol

But no seriously small things like that really do add up. This is the worst morale / work environment I’ve seen in a long time and they do nothing to improve it.

@ec shouldnt have to tho. They are asking how to improve moral. But literally they get snacks and all cheaper than any other company. Yet other companies offer it for free.

Ik its not a huge deal but just kinda shows where they are at. Its such a simple thing

@dv would a pizza party help?

Side note, its wild that a grocery chains tech department gets charged for snacks in the office. Like they get these snack sooo cheap and its such a small thing.

@dg same it’s such a joke. Like yeah calling it SSC really makes store employees feel valued when they are still being overworked and treated like trash

The invite is inside of the “inside ssc” email. And yes you did get it. You have to download it from that email then open it from inside of outlook. Unless you did that it won’t be on your calendar.

@ba I just checked the schedule for the rest of my KTD team (50% remote/50% in office) and they also do not have this meeting.

I'm at KTD, full time remote, and do not have this meeting.

If you're lucky it's a slight reversal of the full 5 days a week in office. How could it be any worse than it is? And an hour long... My bet is some kind of good news.

Talks about ways of working. This meeting is set for an hour so I don't think the worry factor is high. If It was 30 minutes or less, worry factor would be high for me
