Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Why am I seeing dinobabies discourse again?

Do people have any idea what would happen to IBM if all the so-called dinobabies retired tomorrow? I'm almost hoping it happens, just to prove a point. You'd lose decades of institutional knowledge overnight, and what you'd have left is an empty shell of a company.

@ah :

read the post to understand what it is about before commenting you mo--n .. it is not about what yo have learned since 2025 .. if you do want to impress IBM management about your badges and experience, there is a site called LinkedIn.com in case you have not heard about it yet .. also given your ignorance, IBM has a tool called Bob for people just like you, so if you really have trouble comprehending what the post is about, you should cut and paste the text of the post when chatting with Bob to summarize what the post is trying to convey ..

@ah Well you clearly haven't learned one thing from your experienced colleagues here. For example, you are an id--t.

Experienced employees are invaluable. They carry institutional knowledge, mentor others, and help companies navigate complex problems. IBM should absolutely value and retain that expertise whenever possible.

At the same time, every experienced IBMer was once a new hire. A successful company needs both seasoned professionals and the next generation of talent. The goal shouldn't be "experienced versus new hires"—it should be transferring knowledge so the company continues to grow.

As someone who joined IBM in 2025, I've learned a tremendous amount from experienced colleagues. Their knowledge is one of IBM's greatest strengths, and investing in new employees is how that legacy continues.
