I’d like to get everyone’s thoughts on Wells Fargo leaders that are taking over in technology. Starting with Steve Hagerman down as old BB&T and SunTrust leaders are pushed out they’re being replaced by folks from Wells Fargo. They keep hiring their friends from Wells for HUGE money and most of them are getting exceptions to work remotely even they are enforcing the policy that all new hires need to be in a Truist office. They seem quite toxic leading by fear and are turning our culture into the terrible culture they created and left behind at Wells.

Hagerman has succeeded in forming the Dominion, progressively deepening with each restructure eliminating those who resist membership. It will continue to grow exponentially with pet vendors since sourcing has been overthrown with a former WF team.
@1b3 For whatever reason is it just like this here. Any other firm is not like this. There are always individuals who behave like this everywhere but here it is thick with it. It was this way at BBT for those who were mid level and above, Then STI had their version of it. MOE was nothing more than combining the people with severe mental issues and insecurity complexes together, them ganging up and stalking the producers and effective people out the door.
It is wild that after everything that has happened over the last 5 years, all the departures and even the newest changes, that this strange East Berlin style of management persists where Zersetzung is priority one and profitability is somewhere down the list.
If a buyout happens, i hope someone comes in with a vengeance, cleaning out this place publicly and personally. I don't know of anyone who can deliver the reckoning that is deserved and needed in order to honor the shareholders and redeem the teammates for an enslavement that was no fault of their own.
@a5 Management by fear as mentioned earlier. We are threatened constantly. I've been screamed at for the first time in my career over nothing. There are some serious mental issues going on here, clear sociopathic behavior, bi-polar characteristics, grandiose delusion, etc. It's textbook and probably why some were fired from wells, or maybe that's the wells playbook and that's all they know. I've never experienced a worse management style in my entire multi decade career. Hopefully it will end soon with the new CEO coming in who may want to clean house like these guys did. Then we'll get a whole new set of duchbgs. Or maybe they're prepping for a buyout, rumors flying all of a sudden about that.
@rx 100% agree
@bx clearly he needs to tell you all about the house he just built again, that none of you can afford.
Starting with the big guy on down, way too many WF hires. Most are people who were not getting promoted at Wells or were getting pushed out by new leadership. Just look at the self-promoting leader of TEMPO who is all flash and no substance, recycling 15 year old playbooks from other large FI’s. Objectively, what has actually been accomplished in the last 18 months by all these folks? Meanwhile, they come around weekly now asking everyone to make more cuts to fund projects that also have not delivered any business value or generated any revenue to offset the significant incremental expense of all these expensive WF hires that aren’t worth a fraction of what they are being paid, from the top on down.
"Well, I don’t hire my friends. Honestly when I took my first head coaching job, I lost some friends. They were like ‘I thought we were buddies.’ I’m like, ‘We are. That doesn’t mean you’re the right fit here.’”
But Hanger man has done a helluva job. Don’t believe it, ask him!
@a5 Set unrealistic expectations, cover your own @ss and hang others out to dry. The Wells Way. 🤣
After 5 years at Truist I question seriously what is our culture? Can someone summarize what is the Truist culture?
