The UK Works Council is only there to give a veneer of respectability to whatever DXC HR choose to do. There is no accountability. They never push back strongly just approve as they are asked to do like good pets. Try talking to them and they just say there is nothing they can do.
What they should do in all conscience is resign from the works council so HR can't say "this was approved by the works council".
it’s mostly up to you to understand the rationale or at the very minimum make an attempt to understand the rationale.
It’s also up to you to use AI and understand whether DXC have followed the law.
As for docs, ask difficult questions, record meetings, invite the works council to meetings for support.
It’s not their job to save you, they can’t reverse redundancy but they can hold DXC accountable and be there to support you.
They have inside tracks into the HR machine and will bypass the re--rded HRBP where they need to, and escalate.
I’ve known two people who they helped a lot!
I know one of the members quite well.
He told me before that they have to be fairly tactful even when they are seething like we all are... Because if they aren't then dxc simply walk out of meetings and refuse to talk to them at all.
They can't give them both barrels.
