It kinda seems ICP bonus should have been higher. I recall almost 2x the amount after tax some years ago. ICP percentage was higher then, but not 2x higher.

A few members of my BU who some would consider mission critical or even rock stars were put into Needs Improvement. I'm pretty sure that stack ranking had something to do with it as these folks have always been met or exceeds in the previous years.

@za I don't think that being on good terms with the director+ nets promotions anymore. In the 5 years I've worked at NetApp, I've only seen a handful of people go from manager to senior manager or senior manager to director. Gone are the days of the marketing specialist rising to senior director/VP after 10/15 years at NetApp.

It feels like the only surefire way to get promoted is work with a recent management or executive hire at one of their previous employers.

NetApp would rather hire executives from an external company and let those executives fill seats with their colleagues from previous roles than promote loyal employees who've built years of company knowledge and relationships. Look at Product leadership: Zscaler, Cisco, Meta, VMWare, and Amazon refugees. Marketing has a lot of people from HPE, Everpure, and Microsoft refugees. And finally sales is all Amazon, Microsoft, Nortel, and Dell rejects.

FY23: No promotion: 1.2% increase on base & OTE.
FY24: No promotion, 0% increase "because of the market"
FY252: No promotion, 1.8% on OTE
FY26:( We made +300% with our customer): No promotion, 1.9% on OTE.

Nobody in NetApp can tell you what you need to do for a promotion.
The only thing I know: You need to have a good standing/relation with your organizations director to get a promotion.

The average was 0-3%.

This was a terrible year for thrive.

Raises have been sh--e for the length of my working memory.

End of year is a joke and our livelihoods are the punchline. I sincerely can't look back to a year where I have been lied to more by management than this one.

I was also extremely disappointed with the rewards. For a successfully meets on high end (per my review) I didn’t even get the full 100% of my ICP, just under. What a joke.

Got meets but am super bummed about the laughable cost of living adjustment and bonus. Sorry to all who got hit with a mandatory needs improvement ranking. Direct managers don't want to do it but they have to. It's all about how much you can blow smoke up your bosses a-s now.

Myself and others in my org are very upset about the reviews. No more extra miles or late nights for this company. If deadlines are missed and deals are lost, Georg and his executive team are to blame. We won't be working late evenings or be available outside of working hours.

Expect this forum to erupt with victims of the mandatory needs meets exceeds distribution.

Bet your boss wasn't supposed to say "had to put # people on needs".

It's not about what you do. It's about who you know. This place is run by nepotism from top to bottom.

I don't understand how they can perform a reasonable review of an employee. Been 10 years and never had a any performance convos. Managers do not know how to manage talent. Have you ever wondered about succession planning? Seems there isn't any. Randos get promoted and the rest wonder why. When results aren't as needed the top leaders don't get punished, the employees undr them do. And re AI token, WTF, they give them out like candy, must cost a fortune and will b used to track us and eliminate us.
