My boss dwells in a distant corner, in a Hub far from where the rest of us gather.
Their boss roams another realm entirely, unseen by our cluster in a totally different hub.
And the boss above that boss?
He is at another Hub, and never crossing paths with any of us.
Climb one more rung and—at last—
the bosses’ bosses’ boss claims our Hub as his home.
Yet he drifts through the office like a rare comet,
appearing only a handful of times before vanishing again and has never met any of us personally.
So tell me:
How does one collaborate in a kingdom where every ruler sits in a different tower,
and the only one in ours is mostly missing?
Stank did say need younger workers lol
I guess him being 63 is young
The writing is on the wall. Downsizing and streamlining to break apart and sell. Plano is just another discovery zone in the making.
Productivity maximization.
RTO will quietly end when Stankey finally exits, or the company will surely fail much quicker than the current failing trajectory it’s on.
@cc Nope. I'll just continue to 8&skate and waste time and resources while collecting full paychecks, and if it makes you all cranky - that's an added benefit. Have fun picking up the slack, hardo!
@a2 Do you really think being in the office makes people productive? Those who work, work, regardless of location.
Who cares, stop talking about RTO. Its over. Its happening either show up or give up your position
Stankey isn't a narcissist CEO.
He's not a charisma guy or attention seeker.
He's an old-school, control driven operator who sees any response to his commands other than full compliance as a threat and an insult.
Its authoritarian telecom culture. Not narcissism.
I’ve seen the specs for Stank’s office in the new HQ. There will actually be two offices, one just for his huge narcissistic ego and another for the shell of the man that he really is.
100%! You heard it here first!
You know that’s going to happen.
@a2 show us on the doll where Stankey touched you and tell us what he promised you in return for letting him.
This was my favorite quote from the article: “Narcissistic leaders, like John Stankey of AT&T, frequently prioritize personal charisma, media hype, and public relations over building sustainable, operational business models.”
@a2 widespread? Lol, yeah right. More like a handful and based on bad and admittedly inaccurate data. Please try again, cuck. Your stankmeat sandwich is ready, you pathetic POS.
Understand this not everyone is going to Plano. The maximum is 10,000 people, and that's it. You have a better chance of being laid off than going to Plano in the near future. Start polishing your resume and looking for another job in your city now. You've been warned.
stop wasting millions on office rent
BOTH are just another way for T to cut headcount.
Very true.
None of these ego strokers can ever say squat about the environment or climate change.
Do you remember the skies during the pandemic? I do. I didn't miss the smog. We had actual seasons! But, alas, Stankey cares more about being seen than he does about the planet. That is narcissism at its worst.
Widespread employee idle time when laptops are connected from home. Proven by past metrics. Leadership really had no other choice to get managers back in line.
