We're always seeing more cuts, fewer benefits, managers who know they can do whatever they want, and so many other things. This place fell so far so fast.

Now they're adding a "Developer Experience", tracking everything you do. Converting it into metrics trying to justify the insane AI token budget.
Since joining I've literally seen 2-3 benefits a year disappear.
It's a decades old storage company. The fundamental tech and the engineers are still good but the management and company leadership are incredibly misguided and directionless. Management doesn't really care about doing a good job or retaining good employees anymore. They just want to stick around until their equity is available so they can cash out.
It's a shame really. Good tech, some good technical people. Bad management, bad vision, bad direction spoils i.
Nobody cares at netapp, even my 1x1 is kinda fake. My manager shows caring but don't really mean it, likely learn from the top management. its all for shows. My previous few 3 managers got laid off did care. well they got let go. Yes, NetApp is like hollywood, acting is more crucial that real work.
