With the rumor circulating that there is more money than previous put aside for severance packages. Does anyone know if they’re gonna offer voluntary separation agreements for the US?

@ac I know of 4 people who asked and received packages. You’re full of sh--e.
Why would they pay more for people to leave if they can just pay severance. It will never happen.
If you want to get laid off, tell your manager to be put on the list. It might take some time, but it will happen. You'll also save someone else's job.
Backfills are near impossible to get, so most managers prefer it that way. Much better than having to deal with the headache of laying people off and having people leave voluntarily on top of it.
They are going to do a massive icrease in Pip. Dont worryabout severance . Its not affordable and will be bypassed.
Tell your manager to go ask their manager or their manager's manager. They'll eventually get to someone up the food chain that knows.
They have only offered an official VSP here once in the past 20 years (abut 10 years ago, maybe longer, I forget exactly what year it was. So I’m not holding my breath.
But as others have said, the less official route of volunteering usually works.

I hinted that i would be open to taking the package and they obliged. It might have saved one of the others that needed the gawdforsaking job. The constant threats of layoffs was getting to me so glad to walk away from it.
If there is a package going I would take it, here 21 years, so would walk with a load of money. Going to give up at some point next year anyway if they want me to go now and it saves someone else who needs the job, I'm fine with that.

Everyone I know that is asking g is getting a package. Sr Dir and down. VSP is in full swing right now.
everyone I know that has asked nicely, got it. so just ask. job market is rough right now, you might want to just ride it out and see how things unfold.
@OP I know if 3 people that requested packages and got them.
Never in a million years. Dell wants to be the ones to squeeze out who they want to target. And it has nothing to do with performance.
