advantages/disadvantages of now informing your PL (you have a great relationship with. Mutual respect). Common courtesy?

I let my PL know that I’m not accepting it; they let me know they aren’t accepting theirs.
they know I’m burnt out. I know they’re burnt out. in this economy, I’m not volunteering myself to be unemployed with the offer I was presented with.
if you have a good relationship with your PL and applied to the VSP, I would let them know. a good PL understands it’s not personal.
PL are feeling pressure from both the top and bottom right now and they have no clue who is on the RIF list. they were only allowed to make recommendations as to what positions could not get cut, but they do not have the final say.
this VSP list will be cross referenced against the elimination list. I do not think we are going to meet the target and involuntary layoffs are coming. I just hope they oust from the top first.
@OP It's really a personal preference. Your PL is likely in the same boat with you, trying to make a decision like you are. Based on what I've gathered, Centene carpetbombed the workforce with offer letters. We all got them.
Given that information, and your good standing with your PL, you could probably lead a conversation with, "Have you decided what you are doing about your VSP?" It might be good to talk it out. My team hasn't really done that and I think the conversation could bring additional points of view and clarity. Part of the reason I showed up here was to bring my point of view, and read the point of view of others.
If you're taking the VSP, there's no downside. You'll leave, have a new job later and be no worse for it. If your worried about post apocalypse life if you both survive and you expressed doubts, I don't think with the workforce reduction we're about to see, your PL will be in any position to get rid of you.
