What if, and hear me out, leadership focused on growing revenue instead of shrinking headcount? Wouldn't that be something? Too bad nobody here would ever try that.

@OP Investment in people who are actually working instead of some more management levels and new C-Level roles? Sounds way too sensible and logical to happen.
@jh you're getting downvoted but I 100% agree. I have an IT drinking club in my neighborhood we have a couple from every major storage company. Everyone is complaining about the exact same things. I will say the ones complaining the least are Everpure. The Dell and Lenovo people's stories make NetApp seem like a summer's day.
@an honestly don't think the grass is going to be greener someplace else. Everyone is in the same trend.. same BS different company..
Voluntary exit packages are usually bigger than layoff packages. At least, that's how it used to be.
NetApp stakeholders and executives will start frothing at the mouth when they hear about voluntary headcount reduction. Don't leave voluntarily. Quiet quit and make them lay you off instead. Why make their decisions easier or give them what they want?
This all only keeps working if all of us in the working class keep participating in it. It might be asking too much for Gorge and the other nothing contributors in the company leadership to acknowledge that.
My advice is to get out now or at least be looking. I’ve seen this play out several times and it never ends well. Cutting corners at the expense of your people is a recipe for failure in the long run.
the easiest is to get rid of people. Headcount is expensive, just get rid of all the talented people. Already happened to the front end group and NPI. so we are cutting corners or missing a lot of valuable resources when ppl got let go. we just lie to our customers and we didn't test the item fully from hardware to software. We pretend we care but we don't. Most people are trying to find another job....including me.
