Employee passes away on site

Any Football fans out there. Did you see how the NFL handled it when a player went down suffering from a heart attack? They canceled the game. How did Rvsd handle it when an employee of 30+ yrs actually passed away on site? They continued to have meetings. I heard the shift that found him and tried to bring him back still had to come in the next night.
So if you pass away at work don’t expect them to even blink let alone care.

Retired also. I was so sad to hear the news. He was a great guy he deserved better. I would suggest exploring other options if the “micro manger” keeps making decisions. The lack of human decency saddens me. Thoughts and Prayers to all the family’s affected.

Rvsd retired employee here. We all say when a certain person became in charge of the site is when things turned for the worse. I’m not shocked to hear how everyone was treated after this unfortunate tragedy look how you guys are treated while working there. Hopefully you guys can help each other get through this difficult time.

I was the ERT captain at Deer Valley. We had a colleague in cardiac arrest one day. Our team performed CPR and used the AED, and assisted the fire department when they arrived and took over patient care. Our colleague was taken to the hospital alive. We all came back to work the next day. I arranged for someone to come in to talk to all of us involved: witnesses and ERT members. It's a difficult experience. You need time to process it and sometimes you need to talk to someone about it. Life doesn't stop because someone has cardiac arrest. And we're all a lot more resilient than a bunch of overpaid whinny footbal players. Fire and EMS personnel work multiple codes in a shift sometimes. And you don't hear them complain about it. And you're complaining about something you heard and didn't witness? That's pathetic. You have better things to do with you life than to post this sewage here.

Not sure what the cause of his passing but I think the least the could do it delay or cancel any up coming meetings. This is expected though look how easily companies lay people off.

A few years ago we had an employee lose consciousness during the morning meeting. The ops manager, without skipping a beat continued talking numbers while a coworker and I were checking vitals and calling security. HON loves soulless managers.

The only reason the NFL handled the game the way that it did was because it was on national TV. If the game was not broadcast, I would doubt the game would be suspended. Normally if a player gets injured and removed from a game even by ambulance, the game still goes on.

Additionally, I and my partner have worked at plenty of companies where employees have gotten badly injured or have died on the job. None of those occurrences slowed down the company's functions at all.
