Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Congrats Legacy T techs

You guys got your VTP.

We're still waiting for our ESB or ESRO here in CWA D9.

“ I think after the last contract we get topped out at 53 weeks + $25k tossed in.”

If you were hired before the contract in 2024 and you have over 30 years of service, then you get 90 weeks termination pay if surplused

@OP There are many T techs who would take a VTP as there hasn't been one in years due to watermark prior to the 2026 contract. No guarantees of when or if a VTP will be offered, and, if one is, may not be for your location or job title.

It is so obvious many folks here do not work for AT&T or know anything about the CWA or IBEW contracts, termination pay or managers severance.

104 weeks in Legacy T is common because there has been no real hiring done in eons - most technicians have over 30 years - in order to get 104 weeks in T, you have to have 31+ years

That's 26 union workers in just one state who got the VTP up to 104 weeks pay. I'd much rather be a union worker rather than a manager when the day comes for surplus announcement - which will inevitably happen to us all.

@ct Two days ago, one Leg T union tech in southern Minnesota got VTP 104 weeks pay and 25 account reps in Bloomington got VTP up to 104 weeks pay. It's much better to be union rather than manager when surplus happens. Ongoing medical, dental and vision benefits are also much better for union workers. It's a bad time to be a manager.

How many got 104 weeks? I heard less than 5 who were in their seventies. LOL

Who cares? 104 is the max. I'll take half that.

D9 gets nothing…

MSTs and DEG got some last year. Hopefully Specials gets some this time around. My yard is pretty much running at bare minimum but the offer would be made HQ-wide so there's hope.

I’m in D3. I think I get around 90 weeks or so with 30 years of service. So ready to go but not leaving voluntarily. They want us old timers to go , then they have to pony up. Until then I’ll just remain retired in place collecting 6 figures a year.
