Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Safe to say AT&T is Ghost Ship Company

Just floating around with the tide and no destination. They could have been something if they bought up companies and simply just left them alone. The hubris of strategy, synergies, and merger integration....SBC RBOC boys from Texas. They were block head hammers and everything was a nail. Saw it first hand with the Cingular tie up. SBC heads for the most part were belligerent bulldozers.

SBC Ransacked and Gutted every RBOC it acquired and left them as empty shells of once great companies, what is left now is truly Sad and pathetic.

"What suggestions did you push forward for integration?"

My suggestion was not to buy content or satellite (dying infrastructure, cost per subscriber was way too high, and the DTV was losing NFL Sunday ticket) and focus on fiber and cell expansion that coincides with existing footprint instead. Of course, that idea was way ahead of its time . . .

Once we had bought those companies, I suggested that we make sure someone who understands content run Time Warner. Instead, Stankey, who admitted not knowing anything about media creation and distribution, was appointed head of TW.

Buying companies with no plan to integrate the services or technology. What a winning "leadership" team we had. And the sad thing is that only 1 officer was really let go, and only as the sacrificial lamb!
