Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Value trap ?

The rationale of holding INTC only for it's dividends seems like snakeoil. Big funds/investors won't touch this stock even with a ten foot pole. Why exactly are the shareholders still glued to this ? Afaik INTC ain't creating the next billion dollar disruptor LoL

I heard Cathy Woods' Ark Fund is looking at a large position in Intel.

We buy companies for earnings... and the problem with Intel is the earnings are dropping like a rock. On top of that, the company is betting Billions (yes with a cap B) on trying to enter a firmly entrenched market (foundry) vs. arguably one of the most disciplined companies on the planet (TSMC). So, it is impossible to forecast earnings 5 years out because Intel has almost no hope of competing vs. TSMC. For these reasons, this company cannot be on the 'BUY' list.
