Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Reward excellence, nod mediocrity

Most companies know that rewarding excellence leads to better results for everyone. Why can't Ford leadership figure that out? Why do they keep rewarding mediocrity with promotions and punishing excellence with more work? This will only encourage those few of us who are still giving it our all to pull the brake and put all of our energy into finding a new job instead of work.

@sks+1kuRkqlu Are you on CRACK? You need to stop the KOOL AID too. JF (LEGEND) is boring. He is a self proclaimed car guy. He ran marketing at Ford and look what his track record was? Notice we left the car market? The guy is not liked by the troops comes across arrogant with no track record to back it up. DeLorenzo has called him out numerous times for what he is.
What has this guy done? He rarely tells the truth , criticizes his workforce when he has no reason to say anything given his track record on product which is ZERO. DF when I look at his resume why does this guy hop jobs every five years or less? If he was such a rockstar then why did these companies that have much deeper pockets let him go? For the id--t that gave him credit for the MACH E.. Sorry that was planned and engineered before he came in. There are no rewards for people that slap paint on a vehicle and take false credit. SORRY Legend that applies to yo too.

Model e is a mess. You have to hand it to DF. He got a big paycheck for himself without bringing any value for years.

@sks+1kuRkqlu The external hires were only to attract funds - Ford pretending to be a startup. The Ford culture has not changed with the external hires. It is the same ole same ole. Until the entire leadership tree is fired along with all the GSRs on the friends and family plan the Ford culture will prevail. Have you not seen that each of the external hires pockets the money and after a year or two “retires”? Doug is just another Farley who desperately wants to be CEO.

deLorenzo re-printed his march 2022 analysis of this for his year in review:

http://www.autoextremist.com/current/2022/3/7/same-as-it-ever-was.html

true then. true now.

i post this as a caution to the new guys. you'll crash your career if you only listen to ford mgmt and not outside analysts:

'So, in order for Ford to get to that “Shining City on the Hill” and the future promised by millions of Shiny Happy EVs of all stripes and segments dotting the landscape and boasting their blue ovals, the ICE vehicles will have to pull their weight indefinitely, and that fundamental transition to The Future will have to occur seamlessly with no hiccups or disruptions. But this business flat-out doesn’t work that way, especially at Ford, where botched launches and crushing warranty costs are standard operating procedure.'

I disagree with the previous post. Our leadership is hiring the best from tech companies outside of Ford. Much of our executives have skill sets more advanced that many of the legacy Ford management.

In no way can you say the recent leadership hires are weak. Have you even noticed the transformation occurring in the company and what outsider Doug Field has already done with Model e?

It’s because the entire leadership team is weak.

Because they are weak they routinely purge the strong (highly skilled, knowledgeable people of character). They purge the strong out of self preservation. Since they are weak and incompetent, they must eliminate threats to their career.

For the same reason they promote the weak (unskilled, incompetent people with poor character). They must surround themselves with people who they are “better than” and people they can control and manipulate.

This is why the leadership and their lackeys are continually declining. Weak all the way to the top.
