Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Frisco Tower, Intuit Employees ???

Not sure if others have noticed, but the Frisco executive center is now sharing space with Intuit employees. It’s been noticeably more crowded lately and it doesn’t feel like the same place it was when we first moved in.

Which honestly brings up something I’ve been thinking about for a while — was Frisco even the right call to begin with?

The location is surrounded by toll roads. For a lot of us commuting in every day, there’s really no way around it. Those tolls add up and that cost falls on employees, not the company. That felt like an oversight when we moved in and it still does.

And now we’re sharing the space with an outside company? That wasn’t exactly part of the pitch when this place was built. So it makes you wonder — is this a cash flow issue? Or did the business case for building here just not hold up the way leadership said it would?

Either way, it’s a fair question. The people who made this decision aren’t the ones paying tolls every morning to get there.

too many illeagls in frisco now. plus, tiaa competes w/too many companies in the houston area. this plus the cost of living has skyrocked. post covid, tiaa didn't learn anything. they resorted to reactionary tactics and instead of allowing good productive employees to work from home; instead they build a fort in Alamo in Texas which has cost the company tons of surplus and lost talent. they deserve exactly what is happening right now.

Wow that is horrible news. Like did you get any warning? That is such a pathetic move by Temu and her minions at the top.

As a now former TIAA associate, it only proves even more that I made the right decision to decline relocation from Denver to Frisco. I'm fully remote and make more money... But I miss so many of my former colleagues and feel bad that decades of experience was kicked out for basically no return, and now you have to deal with another company in your building... Like seriously?

Absolutely ridiculous and an atrocious move by TBD.

duckett, the ELC, and Board were hopping on the shiny new toy in Texas which was Frisco at the time b/c it was in Money magazine and Abbott flashed $18M. has Tiaa collected on the $18 m yet ? it cost $120M to move to Frisco. It was a failure.
