Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Remember the account lockouts a few weeks ago?

At the time it was brushed off as a “mistake”. Looking back, it feels a lot more like someone hit the button before they were supposed to.

If I were affected, I’d be paying very close attention to what’s coming next.

Get your resume updated and get your affairs in order.

They’re first digging for reasons (real or contrived) to straight up terminate folks. If they can’t make a case for that (that will stand up in court), then it’s layoffs. They want to pay as little of severance as possible.

Has nothing to do with the layoffs. I had several members on my team locked out and that won’t be in that impacted work group

Any chance that we can get Stank and McVest locked out of their accounts? It would be amazing to be a fly on the wall, to see them literally losing their -hit.

Unlike the OP's parents, these two events are unrelated.

Our Director confirmed when confronted that those of us locked out are impacted this round. Use this extra time to prepare.

I can with 100% certainty tell you the “lockout” had nothing to do with the upcoming layoff. Doesn’t mean someone who was locked out isn’t being surplused, they were just unrelated events.
