Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

No rehiring per new policy

“At this time the company decision is that we are currently unable to rehire any employees that were impacted by the RIF. This could change in the future as we continue to review policy. If so, we will most certainly reach back out.”

Former manager and adjacent manager gave good feedback to HR. Hiring manager was going to make an offer and at the last minute this came through.

@dy probably for the same reason, I won't leave that toxic hellhole until I get an offer or get laid off. This economy su-ks and we all got bills to pay!

@a3 thanks for sharing- though there were no discrepancies or issues. They laid off our team and only kept the manager, changing their title to an individual contributor. Recruiter told me this is a new company policy, not an individual do-not-hire.

@OP this reason is pervasive among employers. I'm sorry this happened to you, and surprised the hiring manager shared this with you. I have seen at least one youtube video from an HR expert describe how companies do this and will never tell you
