Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

As long as there are no layoffs in the US, I'm happy

We're the ones who usually pay the price whenever costs need cutting. Seeing others being hit for a change is a bit refreshing. No hate but it's about time.

this thread makes no sense.
all regions are regularly pruned based on their schedule. US was handled end of March. next time will be probably on September.
same goes to any other regions - they all follow their schedule and they all will be touched.

I wouldn't sat with certainty that US layoffs are over.

For one thing, US based workers are the easiest to terminate. No "workers councils" to deal with. WARN is just about the only legal protection US workers get and it can be circumvented.

Employers aren't required to pay severance, and only offer it if you sign away your few rights.

I remember when HP went through its own serial mass layoffs, starting during Czarly's reign of te---r and later MH's swinging ax. With each succeeding layoff the severance was reduced.
