@bk Here's how it works,
Age 50 and 25 years retirement eligible. Reduced pension under 55/Benny's
55 and 20 years retirement eligible. Full pension/Benny's
60 and 15 years retirement eligible. Full pension/Benny's
30 years at any age. Full pension/Benny's
Under age 55 with 20 plus years, pension age reduction.
Age 55 with 20 plus years full pension/Benny's
If you're 55, 30 years doest jump. 55 is the same as hitting 30.
Pension acrures per month for how long you decide to keep working after hitting these ages.
@OP why June? Who's saying June?
@aa what's 3 or four years remaining? To 30? If you already turned 55, there's no waiting for 30. Full pension at 55. Medical ain't changing unless you take surest.
@zy Hilarious 😂
Enhanced offer or not, Union stewards and leaders should be working diligently to protect their bargained for workers who pay dues from any/all AI work function modification, treat AI like any other scab, get super involved and submit as many information requests as possible while you can
@mm let's see......... the CEO stated in a webcast that a buyout is coming 3rd quarter.
dream on, no eisp being offered, maybe fleet mechanics, thats it, management is a different story
@jg cite, site, and sight are all words with different meanings. Just because they sound the same does not mean that they can be used interchangeably.
i have almost 32 years and oddly enough Thursday my boss called me and asked If I am taking the offer. I said i havent heard of an offer coming. He said he heard from his 2nd level that one was. I said I would consider it , yes. But my boss has never asked me that before. Philly area cot
@ba care to site an example? Who on this thread is crying? Who the past three months on this entire board is crying from the unionized workforce?
Nice try though but sometimes facts get in the way of a statement
@hr hope they don’t do this. Every time we get a good mechanic they do something stupid to make them leave. And we’re running a pretty shaky fleet to begin with.
@dn
Incorrect. Through buyouts and with in contract guidelines the can replace areas with contractors. Which has been done.
Mechanics are a very small group. Only servicing wireline side of company. Even then many areas through frontier, PA , have contractors. Not company mechanics. Most of the core guys have upper 20s to 30 years. Yes the have lay off protection. I don't think this will happen . But you never know with this company and uppers running it.
Why pay to get rid of old Techs when you can just wait till they go on Disability and collect that great insurance $ the company gets while your out getting a base pay, the company is getting a profit back on the insurance they are cashing in on while you are out of work. Yeah they getting your O.T. money while you are recovering..lol
@dg Can’t go contractors in wireline. Nice try though.
@OP lotta deadweight in this company
@a9
Rumor mill is one might be for company union fleet mechanics. As they want to go to contractors in wireline. I have not heard that myself but others have.
For sure too many people are just sitting around waiting for a package when they should be retired enjoying their life.
Just more talk, let's see the money.....
@aw yeah I’m not leaving till I su-k every penny I think I’m entitled too. Thank you very much
@aw he will, if the pot is sweetened. Otherwise he's just home on disability instead.
No work anymore, so it would seem logical they'd want to shed permanent employees.
@av Or if you are so old and getting injured maybe f…ing retire.
What the company doesn’t understand is that everyday someone else is getting hurt because the workforce is old. Offer a package and hire younger workers who want to work and won’t get hurt. You can only get so much out of the old employees.
GATT rate goes up july 1st to 5.03.
@ab this is a perfect example of why associates can never retire, lol. Enjoy the golden years, by now - you have 10 years before death.
With a fresh four year contract and pre Medicare age retirees now needing to pay for medical, anything less than the best EISP offer isn’t going to get many takers.
An EISP alone won’t motivate most employees with three or more years remaining. If the goal is to encourage retirement, meaningful financial incentives and guarantee medical coverage are necessary.
An unlimited across the board EISP seems highly unlikely, but what do I know. A limited targeted one seems more doable. It is an ancient dinosaur workforce in NYC, lots of eligible old dirty ba----ds to take it.
