Bloomberg says:
Tata consulting services has brought 6500 L1 visas to USA from India.
L1 is for 'Managers'. Many were not managers at all l, just a cheap labor with fake titles used to bypass immigration and take Local jobs. Also submitted about 25k H1B applications.
Surprisingly most of these visa holders are in Ford, Stellantis and GM

@vm yeah but they came legally, did work that was actually in demand, didn’t displace Americans at the time, didn’t try to turn the place into little europe, learned our ways, adapted our culture, made a home here and didn’t send money back to the old country
Who are the Americans we are talking about? Aren't we all descendants of immigrants?
These may be the original articles.
Bloomberg has a paywall. They weren’t easy to find with Google unless certain search terms were used.

@h0 can you share a link to the original Bloomberg article? I searched their website and couldn’t find it.
L1's cam is not out
This is not something new. L1 visas have been there forever but took off after 2008 financial crisis. USCIS is just bad at what it is supposed to do. Miller had a chance to stop it in the first term but got busy with KT…
Us needs to stop with the H1Bs and Visas. This is an India government issue because they were incapable of creating jobs to support their own citizens. Doesn't mean the US should allow them jobs at the expense of US citizens.
All tech folks were aware of this for decades. It's the corporate leadership hiring id--ts who thought they were pulling a fast one in the name of "diversity" and "needing skillsets no one has " lol
I’m sure it’s a reputable firm that does the needful.
@dr I was able to find multiple articles in under 5 minutes. The Bloomberg article was also reprinted in multiple other financial times articles.
Unfortunately, I can’t find the original Bloomberg article this post cites.
So while this seems plausible base on Ford’s recent exclusionary hiring practices, this Bloomberg article may not exist.
Just follow the money. It is an open secret that Indian managers in the USA are taking kickbacks from Indian placement agencies for hiring Indian H1Bs and for influencing other LL to hire H1Bs. It’s a whole cottage industry at Ford. For a long time we couldn’t understand how an Indian promoted to LL6 could suddenly afford a McMansion in Novi and a 100K wedding for his daughter. A few overheard conversations thru the paper thin conference room walls cleared up that mystery. It’s amazing how HR turns a blind eye to the almost immediate de-blacking and de-whiting of a Ford group once an Indian is the LL6 or LL5.
