Question....since I've never been laid off before. Is a severance package from EJ the same severance package other people get or does it depend on role, department, etc?

Compared to other places I’ve worked it’s very generous. Most places will fire you on spot vs having time to find another job while on notice
@cx , I highly doubt the firm will offer another VSP package like the last one. If the poster is waiting for this don't count on it.
Is there a reason this is being asked?
