The last RA included one of my older teammates. The guy knew this place inside out as he's been here for a couple of decades. He was not pushy, didn't clamor for raises or bonuses. I don't know if he ever took a sick day. At least I didn't notice. He was also probably our most productive employee. So if IBM is willing to get rid of somebody like that, there's really nothing any of us can do to ensure our safety.

@wd I know some in Albany who were on PIPs. Most were not low performers. I know one who was a band four and not marked as a low performer and one band five and a lot of sevens

One can never underestimate how corrupt IBM executives will behave.
@OP All the people impacted from Albany in December were higher mid-level employees, and every one of them was highly productive. None were on a PIP. Many were absolutely shocking to hear they were impacted. My guess is they were simply expensive. That’s the only explanation that makes sense to me for why they were let go. Every one of them was a top performer in their respective area and in many cases their absence ki-led the programs they were working on.
@r7 : there are reports circulating that claim, many companies are stopping the use of “AI tools”, since, there no evidence that shows the expenditure on such tools improved any productivity or had any serious impact.
@fy and what BS projects are you going to present here ?
- how you made AI get the IBM stock price jump to $350 in 1 day ?
- how you made AI get you get another 30 IBM badges to adorn your w3 profile without you learning anything ?
- how you got AI to give you a promotion to Band 8 when your devout first line only gave you a Band 7 promotion.
These are all real-world IBM problems. So, go solve them and show Arvind and Kavanaugh that you are a boot li---r at heart.
@OP No surprise. On my last account as a wintel system administrator I was RA'd at 58 my co worker Unix system administrator at 59. Everything offshore, no more support from the US. If anything needed to be touched they used a cheap 3rd party company. My one exprience with that couldn't reload MS server os on a server

Executives need to make tough decisions that take a toll on them. IBM needs to be competitive.
And dehumanizing Arvind and former CEOs does not solve anything. These RA's are not easy for CEO's either.
That is why we all need to upskill and keep learning.
you can replace the IBM with just about any other company name, its the same everywhere
