I've accepted that my time at AT&T is finite, and that the end will probably come sooner rather than later. I have to tell you, that realization's actually been freeing in a way. I don't feel the need to give any extra effort or sacrifice my evenings for a place that won't hesitate to cut me loose. Instead, now I use my working hours to look for other opportunities, to build skills that'll help me elsewhere, and to do exactly what's asked of me and nothing more. There's no point in pretending otherwise.

@a3 , I declare thou the prince(ss) of projection!
Old guy with outdated skills. Resume isn't going to look good.
We're all going to be surplussed sooner or later. I'm just glad that when I am surplussed, I'll get 104 weeks pay per labor contract.
Use copilot and get your resume updated. It’s that time….
Never work more than 8 hours for this company, especially if you are a salaried employee.
The damage caused by the 8/1/25 email can never be undone. Stinks response to his employee base was “You don’t matter”. He doesn’t care about your social, emotional, or mental well-being. The lack of understanding, recognition, and value has fully contributed to the disengagement, anxiety, and fragmentation.
The more I sit here, the more ready to move on I am. Everyone around here has gotten really quiet. Most are old enough to retire and are planning their exit or waiting on a certain target date. Most just want to leave with a severance; however, as the upcoming layoff looms, I can’t help but feel exposed given recent career move to a new team. I’m sure if push comes to shove in the last in and will be the first out. I want to try and do good things and make an impact, it just seems there’s no reward for doing so.
it really is freeing, knowing my employment days are numbered. i’ve been struggling with layoff news for years and the day is nearing. while i’m not prepared, like op stated, im kind of glad this is happening
Been doing the bare minimum since 5x RTO started. Hoping to be laid off and collect my 6 months severance. The RTO mandate ki-led any remaining motivation anyone had. It’s just 8 & skate now. Don’t like the results then change the policy.
You were never doing more than the bare minimum anyway, so this isn’t a change.
