@fc This go with middle management realy. Executives can not know on the level of individual who is experienced. That is we see a lot of difference cross products. Some of the Dev managers without proper knowledge of development, in order to impress executives did things they are not aware how painfull will be for them ulimetly. The real leaders kept their experienced.

@c6 @c6 For long there was this confidence among experienced employees that their knowledge of the domain would save them in a layoff scenario since the org would not consider letting the experienced go. Turns out there is total disregard of experience. Knowledge transfer to low cost centres is what they aim now. And at the low cost centres too they do not want to directly own them rather have a contractual agreement so that the vendor takes the headache of managing the resources and org is free of any sort of responsibility.

@c6 FIS management, even some of the development managers have very little idea how software development works. I remember I was given just over a month to learn a new technology, and they expected me to write production code right away. Most of the developers on that project were in the same boat. Needless to say, that product was buggy as he-l because we didn't have enough time to learn. They were rushing to develop a web version of their desktop application. Fast forward to today, their product is still desktop since the web version was a total failure, while most companies have their web applications running on the cloud. This is a document management and workflow product. I also worked on an item processing product for a while. It's also an ancient desktop application. No wonder FIS can't compete because its technologies are so outdated.

@bw the assumptions are based on the core belief that anyone can be taught to do the work in ninety days, preferably in a lower cost center. They do not want to pay for the expertise and relationships built over years of collaboration, inside the company and outside with vendors/clients. This has no value to them because they manage from a spreadsheet. They cannot fathom the correlation between to the two. The plunge in the stock price should tell them otherwise.

@av I would not call it unprepared. It is more oversimplification and a tone of assumptions made by Stefani and her leadership. They don’t understand FinTech at all.

@ae "The company went into this unprepared" should be the banner over FIS when the lack of preparation is what is causing the sh---y results.

Zensar’s quality is very low. And executives don’t want to listen. I would never pick Zensar if there were a freedom of choice.
