Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AI

Time of year I get my checkups done. Of the 3, 2 went straight to AI schedule the appointment. Mentioned it to the receptionists when I arrived. 2 of the 3 had no idea it was implemented at their business. Just noticed the call volume seemed to be down. Wondering how many businesses are using this without making everyone aware that it was taking some of the work from them?

my doctor’s office AI receptionist is terrible. She says she is an AI agent. They incorporated a disgruntled employee accent and background noise to make it sound real. None of the messages I leave for the staff ever get returned. When I get a real staff member, the appoints get made and the staff returns any messages. I think the Chase Bank ads are going to resonate with the people who actually want to interact with a person rather than being pushed into a funnel to help teach an AI agent.

The hope is to quietly let it run and allow the employees to catch any fallout. The fallout will then be examined and used to train Version 2.0. Once fall out reaches an acceptable level we cut the workforce.

This is currently happening in EVERY major industry. Including right here at AT&T.

You think working conditions are bad now? Just wait until they realize YOU need the job WAY more than it needs you.
