Let’s see how many shares Mattel is buying this quarter to keeps things looking positive? The spin doctors will dress things up for sure…..it didn’t take long for the stock to move lower as the Barbie movie faded. The company pumped it up then the air was let out.
Kids are happy with an empty box to play with, get over yourself, your movies/toys are not cultural moments…..
Stop just filling shelves with your lifeless attempts. Spend time with your kids, interact with them. You can’t supplement your attention with plastic
For Mattel to grow , revenue of ALL the brands needs to grow. Mattel is a portfolio of products , like a mutual funds company, that all need to grow, not just one product like a MOTU movie. Hopefully the movie improves the revenue on the that licensed segment. But if the broad front of product on all core brands does not increase revenue, the one bright shiny movie will NOT improve top line revenue. Execs will latch on to the bright shiny movie, and not point out how the company continues to fail to grow….. how about that “growth mode “ initiative of a few years ago…. Dead in the water. Anyone sick of Ynot using that phrase?
With 1.5 billion dollars in expected stock buy back until 2028, suspect more downside for a while. Wow!!!! How bad will it get? That carrot is being held out pretty far, just keep trusting in the promise of a turnaround
With all the cost cutting, shared investment strategies, loads of people let go, millions in stock buybacks, a Barbie movie, MOTU in a couple of days, all the talk of other movies in the works and the stock is still tanking…… what has really been made better with current (8yr) leadership????? Wait for it, wait for it…..
No accountability!! CEOs just keep taking from Mattel! The constant crooked grin with same talking points and a slow decline. It’s not a turnaround, it’s a long drawn out swindle
A complete fraud of a man. At some point one of the Studios will buy the business for its IP,,but not until the share price hits rock bottom. How the non execs are allowing this to continue is beyond belief. It’s all fast talk and no delivery.
@d7 last 5yrs don’t look much different, but ok P&C… say what you want, Only turn around that’s happening is the money turning around from shareholders to executives
Yeah well, Rome wasn't built in a day and transforming a toy manufacturer into an IP-driven powerhouse doesn't happen overnight either.
