Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chevron management has no problem trashing people openly

How is this okay? They sit around and share negative opinions about specific employees without any shame. Word gets around fast and now nobody trusts anyone and everyone is scared of being next. That's not leadership. That's bullying, plain and simple.

The layoffs at the bottom will begin in 2027 with PIP's to force attrition. We will see people getting PIP'ed at the 2026 ranking so the ELT can reduce the headcount and rehire positions to legally cover their a$$e$ in court. The reorg will continue every year through forced attrition and rehiring the newly opened positions. The problem is, there is so much favoritism in the retention system the LT will end up with lower value employees as the prodcutive disruptors get terminated. There are too many "fixed mindset" managers in the 1st and 2nd level leadership positions.

@OP i really didn't want to reply to this. But the new chevron has to be fast paced, just like a startup. The bottom has gotten its reorganization last year, and this year. The second third fourth and fifth line managers. It's their turn now. You cannot have departments that do not produce revenue. Those departments need to go away. Just like in a startup. Sorry but this the new reality.

Lean and mean- thanks for Wirth trashing the Chevron culture. Without massive discoveries, it was bound to happen. Chevron is an energy company from oil/gas that they should be finding, not mainly partnering. Nothing has been made from alternatives but stock market temporary satisfaction for green energy. Oil is getting harder to find in mature basins or in extremely data intensive expensive seismic acquisitions. Buying another company is how Chevron limps on until the dogfight of upper managers settles and better decisions are achieved. Blame and angry, and all the bad things is the result of getting out of this hole of 13 or so dry holes in exploration. Retirements came first, this is next.

Awwww~ What's wrong is the truth biting you rears too much? Guess your not ready have you head bitten off, but then after past few years of illegal activities your wining about your value over, poor results training section was over years ago so your skill exams failed, results poor, data, and, recipients now giving out of records of stealing from investors for more illegal hiring? This is a company not a drama show. Your doomed. Accept it!
