Wonder why all the SVP-VP-Directors all love to use the phrase PUSH THE BOUNDARIES. What do you keep telling the lower employees to push for??

Meanwhile, forced to sit in two hours of complete garbage of ‘you must be a disrupter’ word salad by Franklin covey. A regurgitation of nonsensical words strung together. Total waste of time.
VPs and directors will regurgitate that as they have high stakes with the company. very handsome LTI options to collect each year!
Don’t forget monish potty’s big rocks bs….
Send one across the bow, let’s get our arms around it and run it up the flag pole. It’s ugly out there folks but it’s where the rubber hits the road and it’s not going to get better! AIP was a lot off the bottom line but that’s a good thing!
3M is in a messy state run company now.
@136 Do you think other senior leaders who have been in 3M for long time any better? All in same boat my friend
@10c I agree. BB does not have one bone in his body that cares about anything beyond himself and money. Listen to how he talks in the town halls. No self awareness that the rest of us don’t think like him nor are motivated from money like him. Demand demand demand and cut cut cut. You can’t cut your way to growth.
BB and its new external hired executives doesn't care. They are bought in to "change the 3M culture". Continue to demand growth while cutting resources. Leverage on AI. All in the name of productivity.
Resources have vanished. Support is know where to be found, all while the company is demanding excellence. How about leadership does something “excellent” for once. Learn to lead people. Currently company wide morale is circling the drain.
@vv haha, this one is the best. Go Big Bill! He’s got all his cronies saying this and it’s so stupid.
"Optempo!"
"Reinvent the wheel"
There's too many new faces of VP in ESC. Every new joins will ask for the same old study again. The new area VP joined not long ago, and started asking all sites to study regionalization. This study was done countless times, and each time will end up similar conclusions. Simply a waste of time.
@hn "Hit the roof" .... remember the announcement about reducing rooftops a few years ago? There won't be any left to hit!
Who knows where these things come from, but they do make for fun Town Hall bingo cards.
- Push the boundaries
- Here, you go
- We all play a part
- Value creation
- [Accretive, sustainable, efficient] growth
- Cross-pollination
- World-class technologies
- Cadence
- The playbook is working
Seems these things just become exec phrasing trends, then they appear in town halls and updates for a time, then sometimes shift.
Also yes: the phrases they'll use are not the phrases they'll adhere to themselves. It would be refreshing if they could just be human and acknowledge they have no idea what they are doing. As a rule, every "bad" thing that happens is defended and excused away as a uncontrollable "headwinds," and every good thing that happens is a result of their precise execution of their masterminded plan.
We push boundaries and hit the roof and they make it easy for us to tare open the roof to eject us out without a second thought
For a while the saying was “think outside the box”, but that came out of the creative side of the business. Creative has been ki-led by the recent upper echelon.
They definitely push the boundary on ethics.
Its akin to saying PUSH UP OUR SHARE OPTIONS AND SHARE PRICES
Do more with less.....much less.
@OP They like to push the boundaries on ethics, safety and quality.
