"Just remember: you can't put too much water in a nuclear reactor."

Interpretation A: It is impossible to overfill it; go ahead and pour in as much water as you want, the more the better!

Interpretation B: You must be incredibly careful because it is strictly forbidden to put an excessive amount of water in it.

@hh let someone be happy with their choice to stay. As long as they have something or someone to stay for. We're human, it's not all numbers and logic. Sometimes you stay for one person. If that person makes that kinda impact, good for you. Keep that and pray they stay too. Statistically once someone leaves that tends to be it though, so enjoy it.

Opentext su-ks - there's reason to be negative. But even an above board, better company can leave you with bad coworkers. Same thing for telling someone who's content to job hop. May be recommended but the tradeoff on money vs happiness is a choice.

  • As long as you don't parrot the 'We ArE hIrInG aNd ReTuRniNg To GrOwTh'. That is the one time I'm judging your choices. Anything else if you're happy, cool.

@ck I've read this four times, and I have no idea what point you're trying to get across here.

@cj And a good company with insufferable company isn't a fix. Assuming you don't leave and find one of the few worse places.

Better to hope the choice isn't regretted in my eyes. Whether or not it's logical or recommended is one thing. There's the chance objectively taking the leap is better, but I can't judge someone if they feel they have a reason.

Continuing to suffer a bad company because you happen to suffer along with good people is id--tic self sabotage.

@ah enh. Got a new boss a few months back. Worst micromanaging a--hat I've worked with in 30+ years. So yeah, it kinda is personal dislike of management, from him on up for me. Teammates kick serious a-s tho. Wonder how many of them will be around is 6 months.

I’d suggest you take your own advice and not worry about these threads if they don’t concern you. To be clear, this isn’t about disliking our teams or managers. It’s about the company’s direction things feel like they’re going off the rails.
